Use Optimal Recovery Balance Analysis to Set Priorities

The Optimal Recovery Balance Analysis (ORBA) reports included with the Healthcare Reports AR Reporting service provide a unique analysis tool to assist with setting priorities, directing resources, and gaining insight into the nature of the AR profile.

The ORBA report provides a statistical analysis of the number of accounts and total open balance of accounts falling within minimum open balance categories.

It provides an optimal balance number, at or above which total open balance is maximal in the fewest number of accounts. At the optimal balance recovery point, average open balance for the average number of accounts within a category is at its highest.

Collection efforts focusing initially at or near that balance point will help maximize cash flow, due to highest balance accounts being paid first.

Reports are produced separately for each financial class, showing data for a wide range of open balance categories in addition to the optimal balance. A separate ORBA Summary report lists the optimal balance recovery point for each financial class on a single page.

The reports may be used to direct collector resources to specific balance categories for different financial classes, for both internal collections staff and third party vendors. They also provide insight into the optimal balance variance between financial classes.
